Standard Magnetic Grate
-Product Highlights
A standard magnetic grate is used to remove ferrous contaminants from powder, granular, liquid, or slurry materials. It consists of magnetic rods mounted on a fixed frame and operates without pollution or energy consumption. Easy to install, it can be placed at any point in the production line where material flows through, making it a highly efficient and maintenance-free ferrous separation solution.
-Working Principle
The magnetic grate operates by generating a powerful magnetic field through high-performance permanent magnetic rods. As materials flow or fall through the grate, ferrous contaminants are attracted to and held on the rod surfaces, effectively separating them from the product stream and ensuring high material purity.
Product Information
Structure & Materials
Standard Magnetic Grates are magnetic separation devices composed of a stainless steel support frame and multiple high-intensity magnetic rods. Each magnetic rod is constructed with a seamless stainless steel tube and an internal high-performance permanent magnetic core.
The magnetic rods are arranged in parallel on the frame at carefully designed intervals. The spacing between rods can be customized according to the material type, such as fine powders, granules, or bulk materials. Multi-layer staggered arrangements are available to ensure complete magnetic coverage during material flow, allowing ferrous contaminants to be captured accurately without blind spots.
Standard Magnetic Grates are widely used in plastics, food processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, and are commonly installed at the inlet or outlet of injection molding machines, dryers, hoppers, and other material handling equipment.

Key Advantages
1. Strong Magnetic Attraction
Magnetic rod surface strength ranges from 6000 to 14,000 Gauss, enabling effective removal of not only large ferrous particles such as iron scraps and nails, but also fine iron powder and weakly magnetic stainless steel particles.
2. Full Magnetic Coverage with No Blind Spots
Through optimized rod arrangement and precise spacing control, the magnetic field fully covers the material flow cross-section, preventing ferrous contaminants from passing through gaps between rods. This results in significantly higher separation efficiency compared to conventional magnetic separators.
3. Low Operating Cost & No Consumables
The permanent magnetic system requires no electricity and no consumable parts. Magnetic performance remains highly stable, with minimal magnetic decay over 5–10 years of normal use. Cleaning is simple and requires only manual wiping, with no frequent replacement costs.
4. High Installation Flexibility
Available in suspended, drawer-type, and insert-style configurations, magnetic grates can be directly installed at hopper outlets, pipelines, or conveyor discharge points without welding, cutting, or modifying existing equipment.
5. Durable Structure & Long Service Life
The robust stainless steel frame provides excellent structural strength, allowing the grate to withstand continuous material impact and equipment vibration without deformation or damage.
6. Low Flow Resistance & Wide Temperature Range
Cylindrical magnetic rods (teardrop-shaped rods available upon request) feature smooth surfaces that minimize material resistance and prevent clogging.
Standard operating temperature is ≤ 80°C, with a maximum temperature of up to 350°C. Customized temperature ratings are available based on specific material conditions.
Applications
Standard Magnetic Grates are widely used in plastics, food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical, feed, and grain industries. They are suitable for processing powders, granules, and liquid materials, effectively protecting downstream equipment such as screws, pumps, and screens, extending equipment service life, and improving final product quality.
