Standard Magnetic Grate
– Product Highlights
The standard magnetic grate (also known as magnetic grill) is used to remove ferrous impurities from materials such as powders, granules, liquids, or slurries. It features magnetic rods mounted on a fixed frame and operates without contamination or energy consumption. It can be easily installed and positioned at any point in the production line where material flows through, making it an extremely efficient and maintenance-free solution for ferrous separation.
– Working Principle
The magnetic grate works by generating a powerful magnetic field through high-performance permanent magnetic rods. As materials flow or fall through the grill, ferrous impurities are attracted toward the rod surfaces and adhere to them, effectively separating them from the product flow and ensuring high purity.
Product Information
Structure and Materials
Standard magnetic grates are magnetic separation devices constructed from a stainless steel support frame and multiple high-intensity magnetic rods. Each magnetic rod consists of a seamless stainless steel tube and an internal high-performance permanent magnetic core.
The magnetic rods are arranged in parallel on the frame at carefully determined intervals. The spacing between rods can be customized according to the type of material, such as fine powder, granules, or bulk materials. Multi-layer staggered arrangements are available to ensure complete magnetic coverage during material flow, allowing ferrous contaminants to be captured precisely without any gaps.
Standard magnetic grills are widely used in the plastics, food processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, and are typically installed at the inlet or outlet of injection molding machines, dryers, hoppers, and other material handling equipment.

Key Advantages
1. Strong Magnetic Attraction
The magnetic rod surface strength ranges from 6,000 to 14,000 Gauss, enabling effective removal of not only large ferrous particles such as iron scraps and nails, but also fine iron powder and weakly magnetic stainless steel particles.
2. Full Magnetic Coverage with No Blind Spots
Through optimized rod arrangement and precise spacing control, the magnetic field fully covers the cross-section of the material flow, preventing iron particles from passing through the gaps between rods. This results in significantly higher separation efficiency compared to conventional magnetic separators.
3. Low Operating Cost and No Consumables
This permanent magnetic system requires no electricity or consumable parts. Magnetic performance remains highly stable with minimal magnetic decay even after 5–10 years of normal use. Cleaning is simple, requiring only manual wiping, with no recurring costs for parts replacement.
4. High Installation Flexibility
Magnetic grills are available in suspended, drawer-type, and insert-style configurations, and can be installed directly at hopper outlets, pipelines, or conveyor discharge points without welding, cutting, or modifying existing equipment.
5. Durable Construction and Long Service Life
The robust stainless steel frame provides excellent structural strength, allowing the grill to continuously withstand material impact and equipment vibration without deformation or damage.
6. Low Flow Resistance and Wide Temperature Range
Cylindrical magnetic rods (teardrop-shaped rods also available on request) feature smooth surfaces that reduce material resistance and prevent blockages.
Standard operating temperature is ≤80°C, with a maximum of 350°C. Customized temperature ratings are also available based on specific material conditions.
Applications
Standard magnetic grills are widely used in the plastics, food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical, animal feed, and grain industries. They are suitable for processing powders, granular materials, and liquids, effectively protecting equipment such as screws, pumps, and screens, extending equipment service life, and improving final product quality.
